Vila Joya elected one of the world's 50 best restaurants - All About Portugal
Vila Joya is the first Portuguese restaurant to be listed at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list organized by the famed Restaurant magazine.
Besides being the only Portuguese restaurant with two Michelin since last year, Vila Joya restaurant now ranks 45 in the prestigious The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list organized by the Restaurant magazine, which is topped by the famed Noma in Denmark. It is the first time a Portuguese restaurant is part of this list ever since it was created in 2002.
Set in the magnificent scenery of Vila Joya Boutique hotel, facing a breathtaking view over the sea of the Algarve Portugal, Vila Joya restaurant offers an unforgettable gastronomic experience as its Austrian chef Dieter Koschina combines with mastery the fresh produce and ingredients sold at the Algarve’s markets as well as the amazing seafood from the Atlantic and Mediterranean with the classics of French haute cuisine, giving birth to a menu of the finest slow food in Portugal.
Vila Joya restaurant is also recognized worldwide due to its gastronomic Festival Tribute to Claudia, held each in January at the restaurant. The event that started as a celebration of Vila Joya’s 25th anniversary and in honour of the hotel’s founder Claudia Jung, has evolved into a nine day festival attended by many Michelin-starred and award-winning chefs from the four corners of the globe.
