The video of the new world surf record at Nazare!
Nazare was once more the stage of the world record of surfing the biggest wave ever ridden! Benjamin Sanchis is the hero of the moment and the video is truly impressive.
Nazare, home of records!
On December 11th, Benjamin Sanchis established a new world record of surfing the biggest wave by ridding an amazing and frightening 33 meters wave. The new record was officially accepted this Saturday.
The French surfer hit the waters of Praia do Norte, Nazare, famed for having some of the biggest waves in the world. He towed into the incredible water wall, got air, recovered and went down to set his record! Not without staying under the water for about 30 seconds before being saved by the jet-skier Deric Rebière!
Let me just remember you that Nazare, or to be more exact, Praia do Norte, also hosted the two former world records of surfing the biggest wave ever ridden. These were both established by Garret MacNamara in 2011 and 2013.
