Travel to Portugal
Travel to Portugal: your best holidays choice!
To travel to Portugal is surely an option to consider when it comes to choose your holidays’ destination. In fact, every year more and more tourists make this choice and go home willing to be back as soon as possible.
Even though being a small European country with only 92.090km2 Portugal offers an amazing diversification of landscapes, gastronomy, cultures and monuments. Therefore there is a lot to discover either on Continental Portugal as well as on the Autonomous Regions, the archipelagos of Madeira and Azores.
To travel to Portugal means taking pleasure from an 850km2 coastline, offering you fabulous beaches, some urban, some almost untouched by men. On the other hand, the interior regions of the country are characterized by a more rural and bucolic landscape, with green valleys and mountains being crossed by rivers of crystal waters.
To travel to Portugal means discovering a country with more than 800 years of History, therefore it is not difficult to enter on a voyage to the past, not only because of the innumerous castles, convents, churches, palaces and other historical buildings that represent Portuguese way of living since D. Afonso Henriques declared Portugal’s independence in 1123, but also due to the traces of previous civilizations, such as Romans and Muslims, that occupied the territory. However, Portugal does not live in the past, although we are very proud of it. The cultural scene is very much alive not only on our exciting cosmopolitan cities but also on our smallest villages.
To travel to Portugal will also mean relishing the best food and wines either you go for a meal at a trendy spot owned by a renowned chef or at a more modest restaurant. Believe me when I say that Portugal will also get to your heart by the stomach!
