Top 5 deserted beaches in the Algarve
No, there is nothing wrong with this post title. There are a few deserted beaches in the Algarve even during summer. Here are my favourite ones.
5 deserted beaches in the Algarve I treasure
When thinking about the Algarve in August, images of crowded beaches usually come to our minds. However, if you are willing to adventure yourself outside the touristic spots, such as Albufeira or Praia da Rocha, it is still possible to find wonderful deserted beaches in the Algarve. They are not easy to find but the search is well worthy.
Praia dos Arrifes (Arrifes beach)
This is one of the most secluded beaches in Albufeira. Families sought this beach due to its calm waters and also because it is sheltered from the winds. Although easy to reach, I give the GPS coordinates anyhow GPS: 37.076033, -8.277425
Praia do Canavial (Canavial beach)
Located in Lagos, near Ponta da Piedade, this small beach is attended mostly by nudists, naturists and people staying in the Parking camp nearby.
GPS coordinates: 37.081664, -8.669705.
Ilha Deserta (Deserta Island)
Ilha Deserta is one of the wildest destinations in the Algarve! The remarkable landscape of sand and crystal waters overwhelms all who visit it. You can only reach this Island by boat, but don’t worry you can catch one at Portas do Mar pear.
Praia das Furnas (Furnas beach)
A paradise amongst rocks and vegetation, located in Vila do Bispo. Here you will find some caves and a small river that flows right to the sand.
It is not easy to reach this beach therefore here are the GPS coordinates 37.056105, -8.854601.
Vale dos Homens
An amazing beach located in Costa Vicentina, perfect for those who enjoy nature. Here you wont find neither a restaurant nor a beach bar; nevertheless this is a watched beach during summer. GPS coordinates: 37.382790, -8.825346
Hope you enjoy my top 5 deserted beaches in the Algarve as much as I!
