Are you a sangria fan? Then you should head to Vilamoura for the Sangria Festival.

Sangria Festival – let us all raise our glasses to summer!

Sangria is definitely one of the top summer drinks. And if you have any doubts about this, just go to Vilamoura and taste one of the many sangrias available at the Sangria Festival, which 4th edition will run until August 17th, from 6p.m. until 1 a.m., in the grounds of the Casino.

At Sangria Festival you may chose from the 8 traditional recipes of sangria coming from Brazil, France, Italy, Jamaica, Portugal, Russia, Spain and the UK. Thanks to special ingredients each one of these sangrias is unique and I can’t well which one is my favourite!

Nevertheless, there is more to Sangria Festival than just sangria. The air is filled with the irresistible aroma of fresh baked bread that combined with several cheeses and sausages make the most delicious sandwiches. For those who would like to taste the true Portuguese flavours I recommend the Leitão da Bairrada sandwich, prepared with roast suckling pig, the steak and Serra da Estrela cheese sandwich and, of course, the famous Francesinha, considered one of the 10 best hot sandwiches in the world!
But be sure to save some room for the dessert. You may choose from the many regional delicacies available, milk ice cream served in chocolate cups, or “churros”. To end your meal at Sangria Festival nothing like a reinvigorate cup of coffee made with grains coming from Colombia, Brazil or East Timor.
As any self-respecting Festival, Sangria Festival offers good live music, ranging from Fado to Jazz.
In spite of its alcoholic theme, Sangria Festival is also suitable for children, who may have a great time at the playground area.
