Obidos International Chocolate Festival 2012 highlights
One of the main highlights of this event is the Chocolate Sculptures Exhibition – that this year is subordinated to the theme “Obidos Heritage” – as no one can resist to these works of art carried out by pastry masters.
The Children’s Chocolate House was especially thought for the younger visitors, offering them several activities such as games, paintings and lots of fun.
The Obidos the International Chocolate Festival is going to elect the Chocolatier of the Year among all pastry and cooking chefs working in Portugal who sign up to compete for the title. For professionals only is also the Chocolate Shop Windows Contest. However, there is no need to be a professional to win a contest at the Obidos International Chocolate Festival. You just need to present an original chocolate recipe with a preparation time inferior to two hours to have a shoot at the International Chocolate Recipes Contest. Don’t forget to identify your recipe with your name, address and contacts.
But the big news for this year edition is the partnership with the Disney that chose the Obidos International Chocolate Festival to celebrate in Portugal the 20th anniversary of the Disneyland Paris. Every weekend, from Friday until Sunday, is going to be held the 20years of Disneyland Paris Exhibition that will include sculptures inspired on the Disney characters created over the last 20 years. Besides this Exhibition there are planned several other initiatives linked to the theme.
Ticket prices of the event are not yet defined; nevertheless they should not differ much from the ones of the 2011 edition, when children between 6 and 11 paid 5€ and children above 12 and adults 7€.
