My favourite hotels in Faial Island

No matter the hotel you chose in Faial Island, you will be feeling at home, thanks to the warm welcome you will get at your arrival.
The hotels in Faial listed below provide everything you need to have memorable holidays on this amazing and charming Island.
At the same time they are both the perfect starting places to discover Faial’s beautiful landscapes and highlights and the wonderful refuges you go back to after a day of sightseeing.

Casas d' Arramada

Casas D’Arramada

Address: Ribeira Funda

9900-347 Cedros

Phone: + 351 292 949 760

Email: info@ruralazores.com

Website: www.ruralazores.com

Casas d’Arramada result from the reconstruction of six rural houses from the early years of the 20th century. They are located in a huge rural property that allows you a close contact to Nature. The reminiscences of the ancient agriculture activities are well visible in the traditional rural equipment that decorates the place.

The view over the ocean, Caldeira and the Capelinhos Volcano makes Casas d’Arramada one of the best hotels in Faial Island. But what really charmed me was the fact that breakfast is served whenever we want. As soon as you wake up you just need to open your door to find a basket full of delicious regional products and fresh bread.

Hotel do Canal

Hotel do Canal has one of the best locations of all hotels in Faial Island: Right on the ocean front of Horta. It offers a breath taking view over the bay and Pico Island. This is the perfect base to explore the historic centre of Horta city.

The decoration of this boutique hotel honours the Island’s history. It is characterized by nautical elements related to sail boats, hydroplanes and codfish.

Apartamentos Turisticos Verdemar

For those who need more space than just a hotel room, apartamentos Turísticos Verdemar are the ideal option. Close to the city centre this is one of the cosiest hotels in Faial Island. I recommend it mostly due to the friendliness of the staff.

Pousada da Horta

Pousada da Horta – Forte da Santa Cruz, Ilha do Faial

Pousada da Horta offers all the charm and quality of the Pousadas de Portugal hotels chain. Thus it is indisputably one of the best hotels in Faial Island. Pousada da Horta works on the sixteenth-century fortress named Forte de Santa Cruz. The Pousada assumed the fortress name. Forte de Santa Cruz stands on Horta Bay and is classified as a National Monument since 1947.

Faial Resort Hotel

Faial Resort Hotel

Address: Rua Cônsul Dabney

9900-856 Horta

Phone: +351 292 207 400

The Faial Resort Hotel is set on the facilities that used to belong to the Western Union Telegraph Company. This company came to Faial to establish submarine cables to connect Europe and America. When the Western Union left the Island, Panamerican used the facilities to lodge their passengers from the transatlantic flights. This worked until 1945. Then, in 1973 locals decided to make use of the abandoned facilities, turning them into a hotel.

What makes Faial Resort one of the most amazing hotels in Faial Island is its location. Set on a green landscape, a little bit further from Horta city, is offers unique views over the city, its Bay, S. Jorge and Pico Islands.
