10 cheap restaurants in Lisbon - All About Portugal
It isn´t hard to find cheap yet good restaurants in Lisbon. Here is a list with some of my top restaurants where you can eat for less than 15€ per person.
Cheap restaurants, as cheap hotels aren’t rare in Lisbon. Thus travelling to Lisbon is not as expensive as to many other European cities. Throughout the city there are plenty restaurants that offer a full menu, including main course, dessert, coffee and a drink for less than 15€. Another plus of these restaurants is that they usually serve typical Portuguese food instead the fast food you find out in other metropolis in Europe. Many of these locals also offer half portions that are very suitable for children or for those who don’t eat much and that will only cost you half of the price of the regular portions. My advice is that you take a look at the menus standing outside restaurants to check the available dishes and if you have any doubts ask for the assistance of an employee as normally there is always someone who speaks English.
This said let me present you my very own favorite 10 cheap restaurants in Lisbon (less than 15€) where you may enjoy not just the typical Portuguese cuisine but also some other more exotic tastes. Hope you like it!

Placed near Bairro Alto, Toma Lá, Dá Cá is not fancy but it offers good Portuguese food at reasonable prices. The floor paved with the typical Portuguese “Calçada” is one of the place’s highlights. As it is very popular among young people and tourists, it is advisable to make a reservation.

Operating on a canteen of a former fabric factory that has been transformed into a creative center, Cantina Lx offers unpretentious yet tasty food. If you are into Indian food, don’t miss this restaurant! Almost going unnoticed, as the entrance seems to lead to a bad-reputation hostel, is well known by all Indian gastronomy lovers from Lisbon. So don’t let the appearances discourage you and climb up to the 1st floor and enjoy one of the best gastronomic experiences of your life.
Rua dos Remédios 37

In the heart of Alfama, Primo Basílico brings to Lisbon the tastes of the real Roman pizza al taglio! This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants as it offers great food and a cool ambience. Besides pizzas they also serve delicious pastas and irresistible desserts.

If you are visiting Lisbon during summer, this is the place to go if you are willing to try our “caracóis” (snails). Even if the idea of tasting snails is not appealing for you, don’t give up for as soon as you taste the first one, you won’t be able to resist them anymore. However, you can always have a steak with the “special sauce” instead or some of the famed Portuguese seafood dishes.
Besides being a grocery and a charcuterie this space also provides light meals like salads or sandwiches as well as plates of cheeses and sausages. To end up your meal perfectly choose one of amazing desserts at your disposal.

Considered by many as the best Chinese restaurant of Lisbon, Grande Palácio Hong Kong serves traditional Chinese and Cantonese food. In fact, Grande Palácio Hong Kong is a brand operating in two restaurants, both offering amazing food. The quality of the spaces is confirmed by the fact that this one of the few Chinese restaurants attended by the Chinese community members living in the Portuguese capital. They also have take-away.

Situated in the middle of the Alfama maze and with a charming Moorish décor, this restaurant is a well-kept secret of the Lisbon inhabitants that serves traditional Portuguese food.
